Love of craft keeps me designing and building projects for diverse clients and advocating for conservation of the built and natural environment. It was the opportunity to create that drew me to architecture in the first place, and has kept my interest.
The quest for places that lift the spirits has driven a lifetime of collaboration with individual clients, community organizations and urban activism.
Old buildings teach us how to live lightly on the land, about our roots and who we are. Revealing a building’s story and recycling it for a new use is work worth doing. Insertions are of their day, and live comfortably with the artfully recycled.
Architecture depends on enthusiastic patrons and expert builders. I have been lucky on both counts.
