A derelict cottage (1914-5) on the same property as the Post Office and General Store, rehabilitated for its charming interior. The porch was replaced re-using existing windows re-organized into three groups of three. An addition at the back allowed relocation of the former bathroom and restoring the original bedroom. Below the new bathroom is a utility area. The living/kitchen/dining blends new and old. All doors were scavanged from various locations. The wide boarded walls had been covered with newspaper and wallpaper to simulate plaster.
Stone was chosen over concrete for the foundations, and in this instance proved more economical.
The cottage is available for short term rental. Contact Catherine Nasmith for more information.
